I Am A Marathoner!

I will do a full race review later but for now, I just wanted to share some pictures from the wonderful time we had at Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, in Orlando Florida.

My wife ran her first race ever! 5K
Race Day!!

This has been a dream of Samantha for some time. She has watched me run races and has recently watched her mom run a half-marathon. But she was scared to actually sign up a race. Before this 5K she had only run 1 mile at a time. So for her to take on 3.1 miles was a little scary.

I have to say he did awesome! She had fun, and I have the pictures to prove it!

Just a tad bit photogenic!

Oh yea!! She having a good time!

She is currently training for her first half-marathon!

Dad-Leeder, Samantha and Roddy on race day for their 5K
Mom-Leeder Did Her Second Half-Marathon!!

This was so exciting! She got a PR!  Together we have been able to accomplish things we never dreamed possible! I know it wont be long before she is doing a full marathon!!
And one added note: With two half-marathons under her belt, she is striking fear into her kids, they are afraid to race against her! Maybe next year they will have the courage to show up! ;-)

We now have a family who has caught the running bug!

Everyone with their medals. Three 5K, One Half-Marathon, One Marathon!

Marathon Man!!

I cant believe this has come and gone. I remember signing up for this race when my wife was about 5 months pregnant. I had a countdown timer on my phone's home screen for the birth of our baby boy and for this race. I can remember thinking wow look how far it is away. Now our baby boy is 5 months old and I am officially a marathoner!

Coming in to the finish!
One of the biggest blessings for me was to have my wife and baby meet me at different spots along the race. This has made running races so much more special. Being able to share my running journey with my family is something I have always dreamed of. I guess the best way I can put it is this, Being in Disney World is fun, but being in Disney World with your family is AWESOME!
I know it was a lot of work for Samantha to jump on and off shuttles with a stroller all by her self. But she did it, and I can say I know it was because she loves me so much!
It wasn't the time I was hoping for, but with the heat and humidity I am satisfied! Since it was my first Marathon I got a PR!
Samantha met me at miles, 4, 8, 13 and the Finish line!

Time to RELAX!!
Wearing my medal around the Magic Kingdom!

Going on his FIRST RIDE!
